    Africa Jim -- Glen Moray

    Hey Jim,

Know you can't receive Pm's etc.
Just to let you know I picked up a bottle of Glen Moray single malt from Aldi at the weekend £14.30 a hit
Normaly can't stand going into the place but this time --- BINGO

Almost as good ( if not better ) than the "FAMOUS GROUSE "

    Aye, Lowflyer,
Not a bad dram, usual Moray distillery flavour to it, sweet, spicy and not a hint of smoke!
I suppose as a single malt it would rank higher than Grouse with it being a blend but as my favourite The MacAllan is one of the blends used I actually prefer the Famous Grouse mate.
Quite well priced though for a single malt, £16.48 from Asda at the moment. Must be cheap pallets of Glen Moray going around! Ha ha!

Ha ha! Must be a different Grouse down your way!

I've not really thought of Famous Grouse as paint stripper? I've got a couple of bottles here I've aquired from "friends" that could possibly run a bike engine! They'd probably strip paint, took the varnish off my table!!!!!

Well well Jim, that wouldn't be a drop of the illicit " clearick " now would it ??

    What's the mix -- 1 dram to a pint of water ?
Btw, think you can run an engine on it as long as the motor is warm and said engine is not a high tech thingameejig.( God that sounds just like Vader )

I can say in all honesty, when young I ran a Honda C90 on clearack! We ran out of petrol for our park bike but had plenty of the clear stuff in the workshop! Playing with our field bike seemed more fun than getting drunk so in to the tank it went! It didn't run well at all, very spluttery and wouldn't rev much above idle! Ha ha! Those were the days!

I have a few interesting bottles ranging from "clearack" (industrial alcohol) to "bullins" (dregs out of barrels), including a very interesting bottle of cask strength from a local still. I'll find something interesting to take up to the National with me for the connesiuers to sample!

Agree totally Raymo, I have a mate from Islay and when he comes down, (we go hillwalking) he brings those West coast malts and I think they taste like kippers been through a blender!
East coast whisky is far more palletable!
I've a few favourites, I've an Exclusive bottle of Imperial, cask strength, came from the local whisky specialists here in Elgin, lovely dram, has a sweet candy floss nose to it! 58% by vol! Also a lovely bottle of Royal Brackla, 20yr old cask strength, smooth! Of course my favourite The MacAllan, 10yr old of course!
