As others have said, this is a scam and certainly wouldn't have any real effect.

... Who's registered with TPS?? Quite simply even if you are you still get phone calls as some companies don;t care about the TPS lists...

TPS are a bit toothless really i reported a few companies and they cannot take any real action just report the company too ofcom or somebody then if thet get enough reports they may take action

My whole point about mentioning TPS is that when you register with them it's an industry recognised list by a company set up with ofcom that isn't trying to make money from it.

Where as this OPT-OUT by 118118 is a company that's trying to make money from having your mobile phone in it's listings, by you confirming that it's your number they're getting exactly what they want...
