    Re: Seriously tempted

    Nice!
I like them in the red/white/blue colour scheme.
There was one up in Classic bike mechanics a while back,in blue/silver,which didn't look half as nice.

    Re: Seriously tempted

    Looks like fun

looks like some one has added a few nice mods to this 1983 Rd RD01

    center stand
balance link on the air assist forkd
temperature gauge (suspect its to the back cylinder head )
    oil pressure guage
twin head lights ( the original is a single square one ( not too good either !! ))

Go for it !! as long as you know you will be buying a 26 year old bike and have a few basic skills to fix it ( the local Honda dealer wont ( well not cheaply )

Any way there are pleny of folk on this and other forums that can provide advice and there are spare on Ebay fr & de but for how long I dont know..

get it... experience it ...then sell it on.. be adventurous

love mine ( would not like to lift onto that centre stand though !!! need arms like Arnie )

if the timing chain has gone.....

    these have hydraulic tappets.. ..

auto cam chain adjusters and if they wear the spark plug tube ( fro the second plug ) gets ground away dunping debris in the oil..

also looking at the mods... this bike may have been Used

I would have it as a spares bike and drop a new motor in, unless there was no serious mischief

You need to take the engine out of the frame to even take the rocker covers off. so this is a PROJECT.....

hope some one picks it up and brings it to life

Its quoted as needing attention the timing chain needs replacing but it still runs albeit with loads of rattles.
    Still tempting

Very Nice, and from the pictures, very worthy of resurrecting.

    Good Luck

    Re: Seriously tempted

    Buy it!
    Fix it!
    Enjoy it!

(There were 53 examples imported to Sweden by Honda in 1984)

This on is 4-sale right now for approx 2800 Euro (Not be me)

Heavy, but with a lot of charm IMHO.
