    Who lost the war?

Apparently, according Radio Four and a new book out, we didn't win WWII, Hitler lost it through some bad mistakes. He could have beaten us easily.

    BBC Radio Four replay

Was he advised by Lord Vader do you think?

A poor tactical decision to order all those BMW sidecar outfits - they may have advanced quicker without them.

If they had spent all the War Chest on jackboots they would have been able to goose step through Europe faster than a BMW could shread a final drive unit !!

I thought we won because Errol Flyn and John Wayne were on our side and they only had Hardy Kruger (who really worked for us).

If Hitler had not got so caught up with Russia and concentrated on us he would have beaten us. He decided to invade Russia in the Autumn, Rain, wind, hail and Mud.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I have heard a similar story, which Vader will probably understand.

Apparently Hitler's problem was his FINAL DRIVE... to European domination!

We shouldn't keep mocking our resident German, because we would all be very upset if he left us.

    Re: Who lost the war?

Major mistake was in Summer 1940, when the RAF dropped a few bombs on Berlin. Hitler was so incensed he switched from bombing the airfields in England to bombing the cities (The Blitz). Where this went wrong for him was that he was within a week of knocking out the RAF prior to this time. He needed air superiority to get an invasion fleet across.
As a result of this mistake the RAF had time to recover, and the invasion had to be postponed (obviously never to happen in the end). Had the invasion occurred things could have been very different.
I still find it amazing that at this point in history (before Russia and US entered the war) we were basically fighting on our own (with help from the commonwealth)
Had Britain capitulated things could have been very different. Hitler would eventually have invaded Russia, fighting a war on only one front.
The US might have been in a bit of a mess at this point too with no allies.

I was just watching 'A Bridge Too Far' after posting previously and halfway through, just as Sean Connery was hiding in a Dutch attic, my television went pop, fizzle and finally.....BANG!

I suspect Quisling sabotage. I've had to go and buy a new gogglebox, now I've got to connect the poxy thing up and try and get rid of all that damn polystyrene they pack everything in.

    WAR IS HELL!
