    RD03 now sold

Yes, my beloved RD03 is now sold.

    (Last pictures as from yesterday)

I have no clue what to get as a substitute, and I guess there are no real contenders giving the same character and pedigree, within the Honda line.

I think I will still stick to Honda though, and if I can find an XR650L from 1996 and onwards, I'll put my money down.

I told the new owner about this great forum, and I hope he will join up.

Allways hard to sell a bike that's given pleasure. Hope the next ticks all the boxes.

It's a great game looking and deciding though.

    Re: RD03 now sold

I'm actually surprised myself, but I got what I asked for, which was not a lot, and I would like to try some off roading, and even put skies and spiked tires during winter season.

My riding skills (or rather lack of riding skills) would not premit me to use the RD03 in snow, or on frosen lakes, although I know many owners of RD07 and the like, drives them with great skill during wintertime.

I will start looking for an XR400, XR600 or if I can find one, the XR650L.

Sadly, I'm an underpaid/overworked sod who only can afford one bike at the time, so it had to go, but it is a bike I will remember with joy.

    Edit.

I just noticed this one 4-sale_

    MY1999 only 16 000km,,,

I have to concentrate on skies and studded tires, running wide on frozen lakes!

A sad day Kjell, but hopefully you will be sticking around on the forum

You never explained your curiosity about buying a UK bike, did you think about it any further?

    Re: RD03 now sold

Oh I will stay on the forum, untill someone kicks me out.
This forum is far superior to those few I have tried before, no names given.

    (Did I mention I have owned a BMW R90S -75, R100RS -83, Guzzi Daytona -94, Ducati 900SL -93, albait not at the same time)

And I kept all my Internet scanned RD03 pictures together with all information and documents, one never knows, there are still RD03s out there for an affordable sum of money.

Only next time I would go the "Marathon clone" route

UK bikes, yes, In UK one can find the XR650L, and UK prices are much lower than Swedish prices, also the XR650L was never sold here.

And besides, I like visiting UK,
I Bought my Daytona at 'On Year Bike, and Commissioned a Combined Heat Power unit at London Imperial College some years ago, so it would be nice to revisit UK and at the same time buy an XR650L.

I have to check Autotrader to se if I can find one.

Kjell, I know that couldn't of been easy (mine is going to be buried along side me).

I'm sure you'll find something to suit your needs.

    King RD03 of XR.

    Keep it coming.
