so sorry for him.....not!![]()
Very silly
he got caughtthe sensible thing would be a track day but he cant do that any more either,
Who knows they may well have saved his life or the life of a kid trying to cross the road.
Usually i am the first to point out how folk are being two faced about slagging others off for speeding etc but 166mph, damn... Thats fast that is...
I personally still think a jail term of 9 months is too much compared to what others get sentenced for (or don't) for what they commit.
874 Miles in one day...need a bit of a rest first!
Personally, i don't believe the jail term is nessescary.
He rode like a kn*b but did'nt hurt anyone.
Chavs can mug old dears and get a slap on the wrist.
Don't think the sentence fits the crime.
Lock up societys scum first, then see if there's any room left for speeders.
I Agree jail is not the answer for this type of offence. He is know going to cost us 2Grand a week for someone to baby sit him and he has lost his job and a section of his life. The judges would look more lenient if he was a footballer or a singer with loads of wonga. As we all know 30MPH over any speed limit and you go to court if caught and lets face it how many of you out there can say on a clear road you have opened the taps abit to far.

I'm no lawyer but I believe that's not taken into account in the crown case.
For example, someone might loose concentration for a fraction of a second (we all do sometimes) and kill a pedestrian. Someone else might be totally reckless and by shear dumb luck not hurt even a fly. In the eyes of the law reckless is serious; briefly inattentive is less serious. The end result may be dreadful but not the basis for the official "crown" case. (I believe the effects of the death would be the subject of a separate civil claim by the family.)

I am personallyed by the sentence handed out. I've suffered from similar sentencing in the past and I'm always deeply angered by this.
In my case, speeding on an empty road late at night, not another vehicle in sight, apart from the three police cars it took to block the road and stop mePoints and a hefty fine would have been suffice, but a ban? WTF for? As a commuter, jeapodise my career, penalise my whole family? For speeding? nobody got hurt FFS.
On the other hand, go to the pub, get steaming drunk, harass some random guy out for a drink, take him into the street and beat him within an inch of his life, a bit of community service and a fine. Where's the fairness? More to point, where's the justice?
I could see the point if he had injured others or endangered lives but speeding? Usual justice for this greedy country we now live in, the hard working motorist is easy meat, ready funds for the picking, thugs usually don't have any money so dish out community service to them.
Ok, rant over, I'm not condoning what this guy did, I'm not even condoning what I did, just that the penalty doesn't fit the crime.
