Just me thinking that the offences should stand? I don't like speed camera's, but if there's a clearly illuminated 30 sign (since 1993!) and you do more than 30 and get a ticket, then surely it's a fair cop?

Read it more carefully the order was never implemented, so the speed limit is still 40 MPH. The Street has lamp posts that are spaced for a 30 MPH speed limit.

Reread it, and that's quite dirty wording on behalf of the police . I read it as "street lighting illuminated a 30 sign" rather than "there were street lights every x yards as with a 30 limit"

The one Police force, that is more responsible than anyone of creating a "Then & Us" situation!

A shame that the heavy-handed actions of this one force will have a knock-on affect and make some bikers view all Police forces with contempt.

I just wonder What happens to the Points on your Licence?

the points would be taken off of the license and the fine repaid. a similar thing happened near to where i live but this was a fixed camera,the road name on the summons was wrong so all fines had to be paid back. i got £60! nice. shame it was six years ago so points were long gone but the money was a nice surprise.
that cost a lot as they had to go back into years of speeding fines and post forms to everyone who was fined so the money could be claimed back.
