i think its all just rational argument of everybodies varying views.
and it would certainly give a lot of people piece of mind if they were allowed to protect themselves as much as they saw fit.
but you always need to look at the bigger picture which is not an easy thing to do which is why the law has to an extent developed over many centuries to include every peculiar little case that comes along some of which have such new elements to them that they set precedents for subsequent cases..
an electrified fence protecting your premises just like that one on jurassic park... so not even a T-REX can bother you in your little fortress haven
GREAT you might think.... then you get up one morning to find your son's scorched limp remains hanging off it where he had staggered home drunk as a skunk the night before and in an inebriated state.. forgotten all about the security arrangements and inadvertantly touched the fence.
very similar to the stories in the states where the children find where dad keeps the gun and manage to blow a hole in their own face with it.
