Camera question - copying files to an SD1 card?

    Can you do it?

I have bought a digital photo frame for my in-laws for christmas and planned to put a selection of photo's on an old SD1 card (which the frame needs).

I have copied the photo files off the camera onto my PC, swapped cards in the camera and now want to copy back a selection to the card in the camera. I do not get a "paste" option on the right click or the edit menu. drag and drop doesn't work either.

    Can this be done?

The camera is a Fuji finepix.

    hi Austin ,
have you a card reader that will except the sd cards as thats the easiest way, most cameras only allow export not import.

Unless the card apperas in your "my computer" under external drive when camera attached via usb.

Thanks for the suggestions. I finally read the instructions and the picture frame will accept a USB memory stick - but it sticks out the side and looks crap and the only spare stick I have has a red light on too. I will have another go with the SD1 card after trying to format it and stuff.

Try short cut keys for copy (CTRL-C) / paste (CTRL-V)

You should be able to use the camera to write as most camera's just turn into a generic card reader when attached to the USB lead.

Saverstore.com has an USB optical mouse with a SC/CF reader built in, we grabbed a couple and use them for the laptop. They're actually free and you just pay £2.99 p&p (they're labelled with the stores old inhouse label hence they're gettiong rid)

Don't know if relevant to the problem you are having, but,

General rule if anything is having problems with usb to computer interface, is, plug it in the back and not into any possible 'hub' ports in the front.

Also card slot thingys in printers are pretty handy things these days if you have or know anyone who has one.

Put the empty card in the camera, then plug the camera to the PC, then copy the images from the PC to the Camera. the camera has a read wirte, the card readers don't, good luck

I have bought my Mum one too. I have a Canon Ixis and using the EXPLORER option, with the camera plugged in you can find the camaras 'file' using EXPLORER option. Now select the photos you want to download to the file and click copy and paste to the camera 'file'. This was not explained in the cameras manuel but it works a treat. Best of luck, Merry Christmas, Dave.

Re: Camera question - copying files to an SD1 card?

    Thanks for the further suggestions

    ctrl c / v doesn't work - tried that.

I haven't got a dedicated card reader - just using the camera. Will look into the Saverstore option.

The camera is plugged into a USB hub at the front - will try the back later.

In windows explorer the camera appears as a drive - but is called "finepix" rather than F or G or whatever.

I can't find any options to format the card.

The only file on the card is something to do with ordering prints.
