    Went to the cinema yesterday,,,,

Had a run up to Inverness to the cinema yesterday to finally see the film Avatar 3D. The depth perception given with the lastest 3D glasses/ cameras is simply amazing! The actual film itself is beautiful, the CG scenery is absolutely gorgeous.
The characters and storyline are pretty predictable as others have said, but as I go to movies for simple escapism which this film provided adequately, it is undoubtedly a good film.
The anti-capitalism undertones of the movie are very in your face but thought provoking and do highlight other peoples views on oppression, unfortunately some people do need it highlighted to them the difference of right and wrong.
My overall opinion? A worthwhile film for many different reasons, firstly to see the leaps forward in 3D, secondly for the scenery, the rain forest and surrounding mountains are beautiful, and finally for the good verus bad storyline with a happy ending, a feelgood film. If you've not seen it and you're looking for something to go see in the cinema, go see it. The 3D effects are breathtaking, you feel you could reach out and touch some of the objects on the screen!

Definately a positive review from me!

I need to go and see a film in 3D.
I think the films are great for getting away from todays problems, if you remember that the story will have a slight bearing on current issues, only in so far as the writer lives in our time.
It is like Star Trek that was based in the future but contained certain issues of the time it was made. Racism and Cold war scenarios.

When I was Ten my mum took me to see CineramA in London. What a treat I have never seen anything at all like this since. It was if you were part of it. Flying, on a roller coaster etc etc... a truly wonderful experience. I have had 3D comics in the 1950s so I do realise what you are on about. Unfortunatly these days we rarely go to the cinema which is a shame you cant beat a full auditorium for the feeling. Dave.

The guy at the boot sale didnt give me any glasses or anything when i bought this for a fiver, do you think thats why it's all fuzzy and out of focus and black figures keep blocking the screen?... The sounds not brilliant either but i dont think the glasses would help there.
