With some recent comments about what is, or not, worth watchin I just wondered how many people on here (given the time they spend on here!) don't actually have a TV or license? (I would happily pay a nominal fee for radio though)
I for one (still a goodlooking, cough cough youthfull 33!) have never owned a TV. I have shared a house once or twice with one and have contributed towards a licence just because it's fair but never bought one myself. People tend to instantly stick you in the fluffy bunny and tree hugging hippy rebel box
when you tell them you don't have a TV, but far from it! I will happily kill and eat anything with fur on (or scales come to think of it!) and am a fully paid up member of the petrol head carbon footprint bashing brigade. 4 vehicles and still counting!
I have always found I have been busy doing other bits and pieces, or read or listen to the radio or engage other human beings in conversation. I must admit a lot of my time is spent with hobby and family related stuff, so thinking about it???! in actual fact it may be cheaper to buy a licence and cop out of all that cr@p and just sit on a sofa!
I also find it bizarre how historically with broadcasting they could ever enforce people just picking up the bilge (in my opinion) they pump out?? Their choice to fill the air with it surely? Do you think ET's get harrased and threatening reminders constantly that they are a guilty until proven innocent enemy of the state unless they prove otherwise by buying a licence!
all mine bypass any acknowledgement straight into the shredder and composter!
Just one more thing before I get verbally bashed! yes there are some very good, in fact some fantastic programs produced by the BBC, and I contribute to that by way of buying originals (as opposed to downloading) of programs like 'Blue Planet' etc.
