I too do not name my bikes, I have enough problems naming my pets.

They even name their purses ( your wallet).

Well have a bike called the zebra, but that is for obvious reasons

Cos they've got character & soul - they deserve a name.

Same reason pilots name their aircraft, sailors name ships & boats, trains have names, and up until the time cars became soulless metal boxes people used to name them too!

03 TA Blue, Givi bars, centre stand, Givi Pannier racks, heated grips, MRA Vario - smooth!

    Also 4x4 with a towbar - and a trailer!

    Re: naming a bike. why?

I name every single one of them, but not cars just bikes. Usually because of some little quirk of the bike which you can see in my siggy. I love my bikes, even the crappy ones that didn't work so I do feel very affectionate towards them so I guess that's why

    Re: naming a bike. why?

I don't really give them a name, after a while they acquire one.

The GS doesn't have a name yet, other than "The GS" or "The cow", but the NX is Igor because it's a collection of bits held together with zipties and ducttape.

K-T or A-T, are mine, especially when I'm in a 'minimalist' mood, other than that "you b*tch!" when they won't start.

    Re: naming a bike. why?

i too like all of my bikes, have even been known to pat the tank and say "well done" after a ride.
still dont get the giving them a name idea tho.

although the zebra i can understand as i would guess thats from other people calling it that?
