A long time ago, far, far away ...

Any of you Old Timers out there recognise this 1980's XT500 rider setting off along the M3 at the start of a City Link sponsored London to Sydney spin?

    What a cool pic

I always had a soft spot for the old XT 500, never owned one but just love the look of them. For me they where the first sort of adventure bikes
They call him "Ze Quiet one"
I listen to what the rice crispies tell me to do

One of the very first bikes i rode as a kid , was my dad`s , he used to potter around on it on the farm back in good old south africa , nicked it one day , crashed it into the side of a tractor , was only 12 and i blamed it on one of the workers ........sorry dad but yes it was me who did it.

That and the XL500 were the best offroad / adventure bikes of their time.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Sidetracked into rooting through a box of memories, found the pic.
Apologies for lack of further clues ...
That long time ago, far, far away ... I took the snap in passing, know no more than what you see and I tell of the event.
