In the first one the police rider was more at risk then the biker he was chasing, The second one was just stupid and deserved what he got.
The second one was a bit of a numpty because he slows down to 60mph for quite a while... if you're speeding then slow down and the bloke that's been following you doesn't overtake, then that's not good news!
The first one, I agree with the comments on the video: 'but should the police be so preachy about road safety when they nearly cause accidents themselves'. What's the difference between a police rider doing 100 and a skilled motorcyclist doing 100? If something does go tits up in a big way then you're screwed regardless of how much training you've got....
I'll make one observation Bob.
No-one would excuse a car being driven like that but they'll debate the pros and cons of a bike being ridden in that way.
If people want to risk life like that it should only be their own....not possible on a public road.

both complete and utter jerks who deserve a big heavy book being thrown at them.
bad riding, bad road positioning and as for the speeds they were pulling in the places they were doing it? Darwin awards of the future?
neither get any sympathy here risking killing themselves and others (could have been any of our relatives). if you want to ride at high speeds go to a track.
i do think once the copper had recorded the reg plate and had conformation the bike was not stollen etc the pursuit should have been called off.
i heard a lovely comment many years ago I WOULD RATHER ARRIVE LATE THAN ARRIVE IN A BOX
logical thinking results in logical conclusions
I don't suppose there are any plod on here who'd like to explain why the copper followed the bloke on the A21 so closely? I can understand keeping in contact to gather evidence and to ensure that once cars can get to the road they get the right bike (which may not be registered to the rider). But I cannot see why the copper needs to follow through every gap. There are a couple of times when the pursuit bike will have alarmed a motorist more than the target bike did.![]()
1997 Jag 3.2 Exec (jangly jangly!); two bicycles; 2001 XL 650 V-1 which is ready for anything, cuts through traffic like a hot knife through butter and just gets better and betterand a low mileage Pan European ST1100
The forst one was posted on here ages ago so can't be arsed talking about it again.
I was thinking exaclty the same as Jarl about the second one, slows down to 60 and the bikes doesnt overtake, alarm bells!
When i'm feeling throttle happy (not 140mph happy mind, bike wont even do that!) and i think someone is following me i always slow down and let them overtake.
874 Miles in one day...need a bit of a rest first!
Actually I thought they were all riding like a bunch of slow namby pambys. I always keep my AT well about 150 as the wobbles and rattles seem to smooth out a bit!!
I picked the links up on another forum and your comments are all rather similar.
I thought that the rider in the first vid, although riding stupidly fast on too many occasions, was actually making smoother and better calculated moves than the so-called professional rider following him. The copper did make some glaringly dangerous moves, all so he could apparently nick the rider, but more as an act of bravado in my opinion.
I would love to have seen the video continue to the point where he stopped the rider and nicked him, as I'm sure the conversation would have been interesting.
