If I'm passing a group I extend the fingers on my hand whilst still keeping control, 90% acknowlege back, I think though it used to be a courier thing when nodding wasn't helpful when you were riding at speed trying to talk into a radio at the same time

you've discovered the difference between a "biker" & a "motorcyclist" or even an "occasional motorcyclist"... it's subtle, but the difference is there... it's a mentality thing.

Are you saying we are Mental?

I think it's that there are that many bikes on the road now people get fed up, i always nod and it doesnt bother me in the slightest if they don't nod back. It's the same in the car, if someone stops to let me through or i flash someone out and they don't wave then i don't really care.

What does boil my piss is when (and this happened just the other day) you are following some prat and they suddenly brake and stop in the road, your sat there thinking what the hell? Then they turn right and you think to yourself oh they were turning right.. a FEKKIN indicator might have been nice you TW@T!.. in this instance i blasted my horne and he started looking round to see what was going on and i'm ranting at him as i drove past he must have thought i was mad, lol...

    What have I started
Still, it's good to know I'm not alone.
BTW, I've covered a lot of miles on a beamer, I love bikes not the marque.
I understand nodding in London would probably give you an embolism, but I'm in East Sussex, no big groups. If I see a group, I'll just keep my hand up.
I agree with the biker, motorcyclist thingy.

I just shake whatever isn't being used at the time - head, arms, fingers, legs. No wonder no one seems to wave back!

I thought the title of theis tread was Non nodding Moron 700 rider A27

Totally agree - though its much easier abroad with the left hand - some just cant be bothered and there isnt the togetherness useally associated anymore...too many wannabees and born again but with a stick up there a##e!

The bigger a group we get, the more we segregate ourselves into groups that we can identify with as, in general, the brits arent very understanding of differences..or just plain lazy to be bothered to find out..ignorant almost....no different to race etc. Not the only nation to be like this...just that its now overflowing to biking here..
TA700 2010 - Givi full set, Centre Stand, Scotoiller with LubeTube, Honda Tall Screen, Givi Crashbars, OEM Heated Grips, Fenda Extenda, Bar Risers, SSteel Spokes, Arrow Race-Tech DarkLine Exhaust, even bigger smile!!

TLD 2010 - 600 miles, 18 hours travelling, 4 hours sleep and no pint of guinness!! Must go back for that....
