Re: Bike snobbery drives me crazy

When I started riding I liked the fact that if I stopped for a breather and cigarette, I would have other bikers stop and ask if everything was OK.
It did not matter what bike was involved everyone seemed to look out for every one.
Now it seems to be totally image based.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I agree totally, if you're not wearing Dianese, your are scum of the world

BTW Warthog, you mentioned 'Oil'. What is that? I thought my bike was electric? I push a button to start it!

Currently on the Easyjet site and booking a flight to Estonia! Be afraid, be very afraid.

Re: Bike snobbery drives me crazy

The last time I did several North Wales trails around Llangollen including the Wayfarer with a two other ATs it was February, very wet (water up to the tank, front mudgards submerged below it) and very muddy. After a long day we dropped down to a Cafe on the A5

There were several bikes there and a couple of "Charlies" with surgically clean GS1200s. Having no where else to park I put my bike next to one of them

The owner was quite ed that I had the audacity to park such a dirty machine next to his. He went to his bike to move it and spoke to me stating that if his bike got that dirty he would cry

I replied that I have been out enjoying mine as it should be ridden and that tomorrow it will be as shiny as his

When he went he would not even acknowledge I was there - obviously my loss - not!

Oh, and a very nice RD04 HRC coloured Marathon Replica

Ooooooo eckkkkkkk! I'm a two-faced Dainese wearing "Charlie"

Love my AT, which is scratched, battered and whatever, but still have a deep love of my sportsbikes, even though I haven't ridden them for approaching two years now!

Clad me in Alipnestars or Dainese (if they errrrr still fit my portly dimensions) and I wouldn't acknowledge any of you XRV riding mud shovellers. In fact I'd probably gob on tha lot of ya if I passed you broken down at the side of some byway!!!!

Not really! A bike's a bike (excepting Harley chrome queens obviously) and I love y'all. mwah mwah xxx

The mention of mud to some bikers, even riding on days other than Sundays gets them in a cold sweat.

Stormtroopers, Power Rangers, guys on old bikes, they are all bikers to me and I will nod in the passing and chat when stopped beside them. If they choose not to reciprocate then it's their loss not mine.

    Andy.

PS. What's all this mud nonesense? I would never consider getting my bike muddy, the incident at Piel Island was just to make others feel good.
