Although Nikon design their own sensors I believe they are manfactured by Sony.......I personally have always found better colour representation from the Canon Cmos Sensor, although I'm sure there's plenty in the Nikon camp that will claim otherwise.........at the end of the day the single most important thing is the quality of the glass you put in front of these sensors (ie lenses)

The only reason I dont use the SINAR is there are no labs left that I trust with the processing and home processing C41 is crap.
I still hope to be able to afford a digital back or better still a Round Shot................I drool at the sound of it...160Million Pixles - no not a typo

The thing is though that the 120mp as I posted and the 160mp mentioned may probably never get to the public for many a year.. Canon had a 30Mp device over 5 years ago and it's never appeared until extremely recently in a usable format (without interpolation)

I looked at the RoundShot 4 years ago so they are for the public and are available albeit for €32,500 but that does include the mini PC to capture the 922Mb tiff file
Canons 120Mp will probably never make cameras, it may appear in medical equipment though

I don't even mind the injection, I kinda liked the fact that it would still pull literally at tickover. (Though I don't know how much of that was the RS downtubes and the Recyclizer closing the torque hole.) But that front suspension is a bit dead, and it is a bit of a 1990s vauxhall astra.

    Circles of confusion

Never mind ya mega-buck-pixel-costa-fortune-cameras. The most productive photographic equipment remains The Eye, connected to a creative brain, that sends the signal to The Finger to press the button.

Nikon gets my vote, for the decades of mechanical reliability and reassuring presence as a sturdy self-defence device.

I traded in my Canon AV1? for a Nikon AF so my wife could use it easily as we had a young family. That was 1982. We still have the Nikon AF twenty eight years old and the photos are superb. Will never sell it she loves it so much. Last year I bought a Sony DSLR for myself as she wont let me use (Her) camera with real film in it!!!

Hasselblad sorry guys did me for 15 years in business before signing on the dotted line to teach others to be better than me!

Also had a soft spit for Minolta - nice lenses good colour and for the heavyweight stuff my Toyo and MPP ( they don't make em like that anymore) for 5x4 and a lovely Wooden Wista Folding 10x8 now who wants to guess at the mega pixel equivalent?

These days any dig camera that I feel comfortable with - the eye is the thing as said and that, like a good wine is improving with age - oh yes and it soooo soooooo easy these days - young pups don't know they are born!!! I'm glad though I never did like the hours in the Cibachrome room.

And here I am mailing some guy who's selling one. Woo. Might even end up having to choose which bike to take to the National.
