Thats a pity Portsmouth Honda have gone that means the nearest to me in Southampton is Poole or Tadley now.

It did say Ventnor on IOW was nearer but a tad more expensive to get to.

yes, only 17mi away, if you ignore the worlds most expensive ferry crossing!
next nearest is farnham at 30mi.

hopefully someone will pick up the dealership, it leaves a big hole.

We wonder why vehicles cost so much here and are palmed off with the explanation that the spec is higher and fewer RHD cars are sold (how does THAT work with Japanese cars?!)

Nuts to that: every vehicle manufacturer now competes to have the most expensive showroom. In W London, Renault, M-B and Audi all have stunning, state of the art buildings. In France if you want a Renault you wander to your village garage and pick up a brochure. Every cup of complementary tea you consume at a showroom is loaded onto the price of the vehicle.

I live near two mucky old bike menders which are a life-saver for central London riders. I wish I could buy a bike through them but the manufacturer wouldn't hear of it.

Now reduced to a Peugeot estate and a bicycle with a trailer on it.

Could you imagine turning up to one grubby back street workshop loaded with brochures for all bikes, looking at all the metal being prepared and getting exactly what you want and not what they want to sell you.

    Heaven.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

cheers roy, the time or crossing isnt a problem, i can go and see the inlaws over there, but its the £30 cost of the 40min crossing that sticks in my throat. a ride to bournemouth honda and a courtesy bike to bring back would barely be more than that, and a lot more fun
