    Horse whipping.

I don't get it with all this horse whipping business.

If it doesn't hurt the horse then why limit the number of times you can whip it?

If it does hurt the horse then why allow it at all?

Some on TV this morning saying its the noise or the sight of the whip being swung but if that was the case why not have the jockey whip his own boot?

All seems a bit odd to me.

    Re: Horse whipping.

I used to ride a 23h Dutch warm blood and was never allowed to use a whip on it. The main reason was it was so big and muscular it didn't feel anything we used to used 1" blue plastic water pipe and even then it was only just enough. You did get some strange looks of people when hacking through the woods on this giant horse carrying a metre and half of water pipe

Not a particularily great photo of perspective but the only one i could find, it back was the width of a kitchen table. Used to take it hunting and the other horse would be jumping over hedges and jumps etc and she would just step over them

Animals are intelligent and they've come to realise it is futile to resist man; unfortunately.
A horse will eventually do what you want it to, because it realises the consequences.
If man wasn't so dexterous, maybe animals would have more control.
Just because we can coral, trap, kill, control animals, doesn't mean we have the right to.

Theres only one thing wrong with that and that is you can put a saddle on me and whip me and i can make the little horsey noises but we all know there is one thing that distinguishes me from a horse that i could NEVER have...

    Re: Horse whipping.

i always ask the horsey types which is the more intelligent animal a horse or a cow , they always say the horse , i always say the cow, when they ask why i say the horse is stupid enough too let you pud a saddle on it ,s back and ride it , cows are more in intelligent cos they do not let themselves get saddled and ridden around the countryside
