I don't get out much.
But in mid-May I shall clamber aboard my twenty-eight-year-old GPz900r and be making my way from down here in The Middlesea, across The EU, to UK, IoM and The TT.

The question I wish to pose to you Knowledgeable Ones, is this ... are 'Hi Viz' garments now a legal requirement for motorcyclists riding EU roads ?

Not heard of an legislation that states you have to wear hi vis, hope it doesn't exhist either i just bought a new Dianese leather jacket which isn't the slightest bit HI VIS, in 3 weeks time i'm going to the Northwest 200 for the week and the only Hi Vis stuff i shall be wearing is the reflective piping in my HG cruise jacket

There is new legislation coming in that you have to have Hi viz clothing in France, although I dont know when it starts. Also from July you have to carry a breathalyzer in France as well. Keep the speed down on the approach to the port though... (you'll know when you're near because you will see all the dickhead brit drivers sitting in the outside lane holding everyone up)

There will be Hi viz requirement in France. not yet. breathalyser from 1st June I think. The lack of either one will not be sanctioned (other than a verbal warning) for at least six months. (this from a reliable source in the Gendarmerie).
