hello agian, long time no post

    Hi Boys and Girls.
It is Xander remember me... no?!?

ahh well okay dont blame you not been here for a long time now.

We my adventure is well and truly over, and bank account is looking somewhat healthy again. so it is time to start to rebuilt the mighty Anubis. Mechanically he is still great, just needs a few service items
(tyres, chain/sprocket kit, rear rim,) but cosmetically the trip was hard on him.

I will be needing to do completely rebuild of the front fairing. I have not decided which way to go (stock look or rally) suggestions?

    New paint
    new dash
    lots more to do..
Sometimes i struggle as the scars are hard earned ones.. but i think he deserves to be restored

Any way I really just wanted to say I am back, hi and I'll try and post my restoration progress, and of course ask for help and advice.

RR guys you will be hearing from me alot! (first of many orders coming soon).

The friends i have made here i miss and would love to reconnect with. (please BTW dont be offend if you friended me on Facebook, and i did not accept.. I actually dont use it, and have not bothered to kill it).
    Cheers
    Xander

Welcome back, you may want to make a brew and have a slice of cake and read through this thread if you are thinking of restoring the bike.

Ready to start the new project........

I'm sure there is lots of helpful info.

Personally i think the rallye front on an @ looks better than stock, each to their own though innit

p.s. theres is thread somwhere that jonathan (stormforce8 ) put up with an awesome looking @ that him (and i think) Mel did... don't know where it is now but it's a fekkin beauty

    Hello Stranger
Good to see you back on here.Glad you guys had a good trip.
So will you go the full farkle route with Anubis or just a general restore? Not to many @'s in Australia i believe so might be pretty cool to ride about on a fully farkled @.

Great to hear from you. If you are ever back for any reason say hi.

As far as rebuilding the bike goes, the easiest thing is to just get your employer to pay some of your salary direct to Rugged Roads.

Thanks guys, Yeah that would be easiest but i would then still owe them money!!! Ironically enough i leave to day for a feild trip so ill still be quite for a week but then i should have a bunch of my stuff ready for the big strip/ rebuild.. only problem i can see is that he is still my daily.. so I may have to ge a car or finish the XT project asap... ho hum!

I have been going though Thunders rebuild.. and except the the USD forks.. i recon I am looking at doing a lot of the same.

Talk to you in a week
