I had a look at those last week and resisted taking it out for a spin. In all honesty I cant see me changing the GSA for a while. It's only got 40 odd thousand on it so there should be a bit of life left in it.

The new watercooled boxer looks interesting and I was told last week by someone who is a personal friend of the owner of Motorrad Scotland that no more "old" 1200s will be made and all new GS off the production lines will use the watercooled engine. The adventure will apparently plod on with the existing engine for a while yet.

No idea if it's true or not but he spends a good bit of his time in the shop so I wouldn't be surprised.

you might be surprised but not all of us keep with BMW's latests. What am I looking at? Why is it special? It looks like any other flat twin BMW to me, albeit with a nice paint job.

You have pretty much summed it up. It's officially the R1200GS Rallye with a paint job that harks back to days gone by. It comes with a number of bits as standard that were previously options so I suppose you could reasonably argue it's an end of line parts bin special.
