    Jacket choice

I'm looking for a new jacket, to do all the stuff from summer through to winter racing. There seem to be 2 styles of choice out there - the sort of road style water proof, with some armour and a zip in liner, or the enduro specific water proof, less "bits" but a whole heap more "cool".

    Any advice?

My current one is sieve like, after many reproofs etc, and a road jacket with armour etc. It works well enough, but seems short in the arm for standing, and then also a little exposed at the back.

My local 'Ride On' has some excellent THOR MX stuff in - they do a cracking enduro jacket - full gore-tex/cordura, zip in fleece, storm cuffs/collar, clever pockets that do stuff like hide MP3 players and stuff, removable armour etc etc and all for a not too bad price either...

I have a sneaking suspicion that Mr Claus may have one in his bulging sack for me........... (If he hasn't, then I'm getting ME one for my birthday in January! )

Do you mind if I ask what size you bought and what your chest size is? Wouldn't mind one of those myself but wanted some idea of what size to get.

    Thanks,

Well I'm 6'02", tall and 15 stone plus. I have an (XXL) my normal jacket is an XXXL Fieldsheer which I have retired from use.

The Field Sheer was always a bit big so when the waterproofing died I retired the jacket for dog walking duties.

I have an XXL now which is a much better fit ( Silvermans)

As for my chest size I have no idea, I haven't been measured in years, it hasn't changed but that can't be said of my 'belly' Dooh

Age catches up with us all ( and food)!!!!!

Happy New ( dieting ) year

PS:- now I got the wife to measure my chest ( 46") and the XXL fits me fine

I needed a new winter waterproof so took a look at that jacket. I called Silvermans to ask about sizes and they said "you need to ask Malcolm - he'll be in tomorrow (today now) at about 11.30...
    Ciao
