    Washing BMW jacket

I was given a rather nice BMW jacket and I'd like to wash it but without ruining it.

The BMW site is as much use a chocolate sump guard.

I'm assuming you can't bung it in the machine with a few tabs then tumble dry it...

Without wishing to state the obvious, doesn't BMW put a wee tag in their jackets with washing instructions? (Or do they charge extra for that?)

I think they assume your valet or butler take care of all that for you.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Of course! But that's assuming after having bought the bike and jacket, one actually had enough left over to be able to afford a valet or butler ... hmm, doubtful...

I have found that the best way is to wash any goretex in a soap free cycle first (to remove crap). then Nikwax Techwash then go for TX direct most jackets need to be warm tumble dried, or ironed after wards to seal the waterproofing..
    have fun..

If you have used normal soap you have to rinse cycle it about 5-10 times to unclog the gortex pours.. then follow abouve
