i've got aldi ones - threw the knee pads away cos they were inthe wrong place - and got some knee pads to be work on the knees
they are waterproof and with the new kneepads my knees are better protected and nice and warm - the trousers also have a removeable thermal lining!
they are pretty good but if you want really good stuff and don't mind paying a bit then Hein Gericke stuff is really good!
above that I think that Rukka Gear is the best stuff around from what i have heard - never owned any but friends who commute daily come what may say it is awesome and has never let them down!
i thik it also has guarantees etc!

Wifey is getting me some Frank Thomas 'RAPTOR' troosers for Christmas - I'll let you know how I get on with them later.....
I currently use some 'Spada' cheapos from Ride-On - £40 quid, very waterproof and very warm with the liner in, got knee pads, but no hip protection. They've also got a burn hole in the right leg, but that's another subject.....
I've got some Spada's too. Seem to still be totally waterproof after about 3 years or so and they're very warm. I bought them a size larger than usual and wear them over my jeans or whatever...save's a certain amount of fannying about when you get to work or wherever. About £40 or so off t'internet.
Raven - currently I am in the budget end but as I use the bike everyday I am looking to move upwards in price - to be honest I don't mind spending the money if I know what I get, does what it is supposed to - Current cheapies let water in on the seam's so when I get to work, trousers are soaked. Keep the suggestions comming Thx James
Well if you wish to stay in the Budget end, Spada stuff is a good bet. I do as Robster has done and use a pair of Spada Turins, a size larger than needed, worn over my jeans/worktrousers. Only had them for a short time, but I rode to work in huge winds, hail/rain/thunderstorm, and when I took them off at work, not a drop was on my jeans. Done this 3 times now, and any other trousers I have had failed this test. They have knee armour and a pocket for hip armour, have a few adjustors in them to help them fit better, and the lower zip opens up enought to put them on/take them off over boots.
So far I am very impressed with their waterproofness. They are currently on offer at £50, might be worth checking them out.

Not cheap, but just bought HG's XCR Gore-tex thingymebobs. Very nice fit, come with a bib and braces. Seem as warm as toast but have not yet ridden from Newcastle to London in the rain in them (a journey I memorably did at the start of the year).
My summer solution, though might be just as valid over winter gear. Ex-army gore-tex over trousers off ebay (about a tenner), ex-police gore-tex hi viz jacket off ebay (about £25).

Both me & the wife have got RST trousers. Waterproof (so far & I've been in some proper rain in France) and have a quilted lining (non-removable). Too hot for summer but nice in winter. When it's really cold, I wear Cold Killers underneath & can recommend them. Trousers were about £40 from NEC show last year, but RRP is about £50 I think.
Thanks,
Raven had a look at the Spada Turin stuff on the link you gave.
Ordered jacket & pants. They came today really good fit. Just need to try them out.
Best bit was the price £104 delivered. Extra 5% discount on first order Carn't go wrong at that.
