Members Map.

Just a question/thought.

Do we or can we have a Members Map on the site somewhere.

It would be great to look at a map and see where our members live.

Not the street obviously but a town marker would be good.

See who's were and who we can pop in on for a cupa tea when out on long rides.

Just a thought.

ie. I passed right passed one of our members houses just before Xmass.
Could of got a free cupa out of it. LOL...

Hi Kris,

A plug-in for google maps has always been on the agenda for the XRV forum. Currently we do have the capability for showing single point informations (for members homes, good/bad service informations...ect...) but we're holding back the technlogy until we can possibly add more information like Trails/routes. If people wish the single point information maps to be released then please inform us via this thread, otherwise we'll relese the mapping software when it's fully and completely beta tested to show not only points of interest (POI) but also capable of showing track data (for example KML or other GPS data files)

Re: Members Map.

Nice one! This idea has been floated several times by a number of members (myself included) and before we go down a familiar road, locations of members can be as accurate or vague as you like. Whatever you're comfortable with. A few people voiced security concerns over advertising their location (and their beloved bikes) to all and sundry. Fair point. However, for the purposes of just members hooking up with other members for a rideout or a beer (or both), nobody needs your postcode, just a general idea of where everybody will be riding from. A location name is good enough or, for you big city types ,something like north London or east Birmingham will do. If you're meeting at someone's digs, fine. PM each other an address. For the map, a rough idea will do the job.

And yes, I love maps.
