anchors

<a name="top" id="top"></a><a href="#anchors">Anchors</a> | <a href="#subheads">sub-headings</a> | <a href="#top">back to top</a><br />

Can you use anchors within the bulletin board? I can code them in html so will experiment just in case. If not, is it possible to add them as a function.

I think they would help break up the text and enable navigation within a posting.

Which, on ride reports or product reviews might be a nice thing to do.

Re: anchors

I don't know you can't even do a test thread without it being hijacked

Re: anchors

In html you can create places in the text that you can jump straight to. These are called anchors.
So, when you see something that says "Back to the top" what it is is a link to an anchor at the top of the page.
If you wrote something in five chapters you might have
Chater1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5| back to top
each bit between the uprights would link to an anchor at the relevant part of the text.
On the Longest Day website there is an A-Z listing and if you click on the relevant letter it takes you direct to the first person whose site name begins with that letter. That is done using anchors.
I just thought it might be a useful function.
