Social Groups

When people post in the social groups, could all members be Emailed that there is a new post. The same as if you subscribe to a thread.

Would this be possible?

Thanks Simon

Re: Social Groups

Having had a look there doesn't appear to be a facility built into the software (that I can see)

Re: Social Groups

it was along the lines of "those groups dont do that". like Cie said i dont think the functionality exists, although it may turn out that after the upgrade it can be?
Come on DaveS, give us some good news

Re: Social Groups

Hi guys.
My feeling is that Jelsoft the people that create vBulletin our forum software haven't really implemented social groups very well.
They are a good idea, in that it gives you the members control over what groups you create and how you manage them. As you say though if you add an email alert what's the difference from a normal forum.
I suspect that they will add alerting at some point, but I don't think it's available yet.
However have a dig around the vBulletin site and see what you can find out. It might be plannned in a new verison. We've just upgraded to version 3.8.
You will be amazed at some of the stuff this software can do. Just shout back if you want me to look at any of it....... also vbulletin.org is a good site as it shows what mods we can do to the forum.
