Am i allowed to make a manuals thread?

I'd do this by pm but i'm not allowed since i did'nt subscribe.
(It's not that i dont think it's worth subscribing, because in this case it really is,but i refuse to pay to use any forums.Maybe i'm tight.Internet = free in my eyes)

Anyway,i have the workshop manuals for domi, africa twin and pretty much all the bikes covered by this forum.
I'm uploading now but just want to check it's ok to post them all up in the relevant section?

    Thanks
    Dave

It'll save me sending them by email everytime .

    Thanks
    Dave

Do you hold the copyright to these manuals?? If not, then I would assume that by making it available to others you are breaking the law. Which is something that this forum cannot condone.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

I'm sure you can make availiable pretty much anything,as long as it's not for profit.
It's the ones on e blag for sale that are breaking copyright law.
after all,do librarys hold copyright on all their books?

Not so. Making available copyright material, whether paid for or not, is infringing copyright law.

Libraries only lend books out. They do not give them away for you to keep permanently. Photocopying pages from a library book is also frowned upon, unless it is for (usually) research purposes.

As Lutin says incorrect, breaking a copyright is copying anything that you do not have a right to copy. If you then sell multiple copies for profit and as the original you then fall into the offence of Piracy. A library has original copies and still owns the books.....

Either way it's a mute point as the site admin will NOT allow the posting of copyrighted material by a member.

Try telling that to the company that provides the dedicated hosting server. I don't think that would fit in with their business model.

That set me wondering with regard to libraries. Seems they do now pay authors when they lend a book out.

The internet may be free to browse but of course to host a website such as this costs money and time - where does this money come from to support such sites? it's not done for profit The subscription for this site has paid for itself 10 times over for me and I suspect many other users.

Couldn't agree more, I wouldn't have got anywhere near the completion of my re build without the help and knowledge from the subscribers on here (pics will be on there way soon of my baby in all her on road glory), I am now passing my limited gained knowledge onto my son in law who is re building his VTR Firestorm. As for the internet being free, £20.00 per month I pay so £10.00 pa is cheap as chips
