URL change?

You lot (especially Dave) are probably gonna hate me for this suggestion...

But seeing that we're covering not only every honda trails bike, but also every other manfacturer as well as being a more international membership is the XRV.ORG.UK url really suitable??

Just a though for the future???

Re: URL change?

The forum URl could be changed quite easily, the worry is that xrv.org.uk has an internet presence associated with it that if not done right might be lost..

Re: URL change?

unless the xrv.org.uk address was kept and redirected to any new address, it would mean quite a lot of defunct bike / helmet / luggage stickers for a kickoff

Re: URL change?

There's a few URL's already pointing towards the site Chris..so keeping xrv.org.uk wouldn't be a problem...I've only posted this as I was more wondering as to how many inernational visitors actually don't bother becasue they see the UK tld... (see I'm weird, even when I'm not on the forum I still think about it )

Re: URL change?

Hmmmm. This has been mulled over quite a bit.
The pro's for xrv.org.uk are that it's short, catchy, and very well established.
The con's are that it doesn't reflect the wider nature of the forum and is focused on the Africa Twin, but that's our history.
So I get over that by having a few other URL's pointing to this one, but in the end they all change over to the xrv.org.uk one.

I think I'm inclined to leave it as it's such a memorable URL.
If I could I would probably buy the xrv.org URL but that's gone but not in use at the moment. xrv.com we certainly won't get!
Cheers
Dave

I will probably add some more as well. I keep adding to them as I think about new and relevant one's.
