    Camping forum

    Hi,

I may have missed this, but the camping forum links through to a different website entirely about camping...

That means having another registration and not having the benefit of the forum's members feedback on your post (well, it's less likely).

I like this forum because I "trust" the judgement of the people here (famous last words anyone?), so sending me off to another forum seems like a shame.

It would be a good idea to link through to that forum from our own subforum on camping (since they've obviously dedicated more time to this than we have), but I quite like a camping forum here because you get feedback from people with the same problem (packing that tent on a bike).

What was the motivation behind this?

    Best,

    Re: Camping forum

Yep, camping forum and XRV are run by the same people. Dave asked if anyone minded thier registration moved across which everyone seemed to think was a good idea also it helps the new forum look busy and get new members.

Anyone who's signed up since it started will though have two different registrations unless they manage to get the same name on both forums..

However I am thinking about a better tie up to do just what you're asking for so it shares posts between the two forums.
There's a Mod which does this, will test out some time soon.
