2008 Rally Calendar

Looking ahead to next year, I want to pull together a comprehensive list of UK-based events suitable for big trail bikes, along with confirmed dates and websites. So if you can provide details for any of the following events (or others, LDTs for example) please post them here, and we'll transcribe them into the calendar.

• The PJM Rally (Diamonds MCC)
• The Cambrian Rally (WTRA)
• The Red Kite Rally (WTRA) - 23rd March
• The Ryedale Rally (Yorkshire EC) - 5th/6th July
• The Kielder Big Bike Rally (Dirtbiketrax) - 22nd to 24th August
• The Rally of Discovery (SMAC) - 5th to 8th September
• The Hafren Rally (Hafren Dirt Bike Club)

And a few other events as well:

• Erzberg Rodeo - 23rd to 25th May
• Alto Turia - 25th to 30th May
• Mountain Madness (Horizons Unlimited) - 29th/30th July
• Dawn to Dusk - 23rd/24th August
• Baja GB - 24th to 28th September

And the non-events for 2008:

• The Northumbrian Rally (Seaton Delaval & District MC)
• The Raiders Rally (Diamonds MCC)
• The Coast to Coast Rally (Big Trail Bike Club)

From enduronews, The Ryedale Rally is on 5-6th July 2008.

Also the Big Bike Challenge site has had a full re-works, and if anyone ever gets a "Big Bike Challenge" sticker I'd be dead jealous!! .

Below is the text of an email from Andy of Big Bike Challenge,

"PJM's cancelled, but the Kielder thing is happening. I'll keep it simple and stick to the same classes as previous years, see how the Ryedale thing pans out.

so it's:

1. The Red Kite Usual date is Easter Sunday, unconfirmed
2. The Ryedale as we know, July 5th/6th
3. Kielder thing August 22nd-24th
4. The Cambrian usually around mid Oct, so I guess 18th/19th
5. The Hafren possibly December, ish 6th/7th.

Has the date for the Cambrian been published yet? I'd like to do that this year if I can.

I'm also planning to have a bash at the dawn to dusk!
