BTW- there is no need to be a Sidcup member to enter, and you can get ACU day membership with your application-It is a good idea to get there an hour or so before your allocated time to set off(you will get instructions and start time in the post before hand)there is basic scrutineering, nothing heavy you will be given the route which is about 10 sheets of A4 paper with simple directions and milages between junctions etc, some use a road book holder, joining all the sheets to form a single roll a bit easier to read on the move, but does go pear shaped and twisted if you get it wrong a lot of people simply have a clear plastic A4 wallet hung round their neck and change the top sheet every half an hour or so.Nearly every one ends up in a group of 2 or 3 helping each other if they get confused , it is much more satisfying to follow the instructions than just follow the others, they could be going the wrong way .There are about 10 trial sections which are observed(marked) these are always in byeways and there is usually a bit of a queue, so time to have a laugh at every one else before they laugh at you -all good hearted and most don't take it too seriously, but there are some very good riders who will clean the lot.Take your time it is not a race,it will probably take any where between 4 and 6 hours to complete and there will be a posee of observers(including me!) and the course closer making sure all got back ok- Have fun and see you there- Plenty of time for more entries, contact me if you have any questions. When is the closeing date?

I've done a big bike version of an LDT, they are fab fun, "gentle" competition if you're as un good as I am!!

I could be tempted, shoulder permiting. .

Would a bigger bike get round? Tyre regs??

    Thanks.
