CRF230 - All you wanted to know etc etc

So here's the same American guy who exhaustively records everything about his bikes, this time it's the little 230.

Yes I have seen a guy around me who uses one a green laner.
Also there is the CCM 230 which uses the same engine I think Wee Jack

I think the CCM uses a chinese engine, saw it in a review somewhere? Might be a copy of the Honda engine.

Re: CRF230 - All you wanted to know etc etc

i got mine in march 2005 for £3100 as i wanted some trials tyres and a bash plate fitted, can be made road legal very easily, but it will cost more if you get the dealer to do it.
the ccm version is not the same, i has the older push rod engine and the plastics are not as strong, so unless you find a ccm realy cheap i would get the honda one, i have had mine from new and i would not have bought anything else for the trials, long distance trials and trailriding i do.
if you are about 5.6 then it can do everything a bigger more expensive bike can do, unless you want to race it very fast, but if you ask anyone who was at the recent ubley get together, it can be ridden quite quickly by a good rider.
ideal starter bike, and the electric start is a god send after an upside down moment.
the honda dealer near me has them for 2999 on the road.
if anyone wants any more info on the crf230f just ask.

The honda website says they are £2466 , so have they been reduced in price or is it £600+ to get them kitted for the road or VAT or something ??

I'm going to have to have a wee visit to Mickey Oats and check them out.

I have become quite taken by the wee CRF 230 and found this while doing a bit of "googling" not much on the bike's capabilities but a nice read all the same ..............
