Hello all of you out there. I'm a new boy on the block and found this forum by accident.
I'm pretty well through a project with the CRF230. I've scrapped the "lighting kit" that came with the bike and replaced it with xr400 headlight, shroud and speedometer. Speedo cable from xr200 fits a treat. The plastic gear box on the spindle has been modified with an alloy sleeve and that's fine. There is a key way in the hub to take the round washer drive key from the xr 400 and the seal fits. All is well so far.
Now the crunch. The plastic gear box scrapes on the edge of the hub and when this bike gets in the N Wales bogs it will simply be destroyed. My question is......Will the front wheel from the xr200 fit into the forks of the crf230 and provide a gap between the plastic gear box and the hub.
I believe it will, but I need to find someone locally, 50 miles say from Wrexham with the xr200 where I can give it the beady eye and measure the spindle.
If it works and I think it will......big success.
Anyone out there that can help I would b pleased to read the replies.
Remember, best keep the round rubber things at the bottom, close to the floor....most of the time.
Rjc
