    Hi From Newbie & Questions

Hi, Ive just bought a road legal CRF450R 2009 bike.
Its as it was from build, no plate, no lights no nothing... I plan to make it road and offroad..

Been looking at the kits to fit lights and starter and ignition keys..

Anyone gone through this recently and would help me with questions???
So first item i want to buy is a side stand, and stand to work on bike, years ago i used to use a lemonade crate, not sure they still do these...

Great forum and now need to read up and buy bits....

Nice looking bike Dodge.... but how is it classed as road legal?

Do you have the V5 and road tax with it?

You mentioned 'the starter' as though you meant you were planning to add 'electric start', it can be done but costs an absolute fortune and is not practical as you need engine cases and all sorts of other 'really' expensive parts (and a battery), much better to buy the 450X in the first place and still plenty fast enough!!!

I have a 2002 450R that my son uses (with added lighting kit removed for motocross at the mo, tax, mot etc) and a 2005 450X

Yes it has a V5 and it taxed.
Now insured as well with other two bikes...

Looking at the Baja kit in the states , got the idea from ere: http://www.shellhell.net:1680/~chupp...F_BajaDesigns_

Would like to fit ignition lock and ley if poss.
All ideas at the moment, looking at new plastics and stickers, mind overload...

Ta for advice, i always wanted another CR and now 44, might be my last..
Had a Red Rocket all those years ago...

Re: Hi From Newbie & Questions

So i fitted the speedo lighting kit and ignition kit and it was very simple, even i manged it.. and wow the lights really work well, so glad i didnt take engine apart and all that...

New plastic's fitted, new bars , just seat cover to do and grips and levers and graphics, then she will be done and ready...

Still thinking of wot to do with engine cases...

The acerbis large petrol tank works and fitted a treat, looks great and was ok with side plastics. impressed..

Re: Hi From Newbie & Questions

How much did the kit cost? Also how much and how big was the tank?

Did you make any other mods to make it more trail friendly?
