    Crosstourer screen solution

I've decided to go down the aero-trim route to cure the shortcomings of the standard screen. The wind blast off the top of the screen hit my neck on low and my eyes on high so neither setting was any good so a replacement was sought. As Honda's touring screen isn't available until the end of the month and no sign of a Givi yet I decided to try the aero-trim.
It isn't too grotesque looking and improves the aerodynamics to suit me so hopefully that's the wind issue sorted!
Heated grips are fitted, went for Dr Bike one's in the end with the singe round knob controller like the old Honda ones, work a treat.
I mounted my tool tube under the topbox mounting plate, doesn't block out the tail light so just the crash bars and luggage racks to go! Hopefully it'll be ready for touring soon, we head off for the Stella in just over a week!
    Still lovin it!

Aye, havin great fun farkling this last week or two prepping for the big Euro trip.

John, I decided I couldn't find a decent bit of screen to make it and I thought my brand new £11.5K bike deserved a bit of class rather than bits and bobs from a DIY store! Not to take anything away from Rick's idea, looked the biz and did the job. (I did find the white plastic hinges in a box in my shed, just couldn't find a bit of screen!)

Mounted the Tom tom tonight and just figuring out how to fit my ewe on to the seat! Luggage racks coming Friday hopefully!

I am hoping Hudders mate. But, cutting things a bit close this time, the belly pan from Hepco & Becker hasn't turned up yet, there's no sign of crash bars from any of the companies and the luggage racks should be here by the weekend! I'm not too keen of taking it up the hill without bars just in case I drop it! So, we'll see! LOL!

Hi jim, just looking through the crosstourer forum as ive just bought a 1200x and just put a Givi screen on, i finally gave in with the varadero after putting up with Fi problem for three and a half years, sorry to see the vara go but got a deal at my honda dealer, nearly bought a 3yr old Gs adventure but heard about some drive issues, is the drive on the 1200x a tough old boot, also thinking of fitting a centre stand is there any problems with grounding when leaning, didnt know what option ! some sort of paddock stand or centre stand also looked at the ABBA STAND but not if only for cleaning and maintainance or long term storage use over winter !!!
    thanx nelly

    Re: Crosstourer screen solution

I've gone down the Givi screen route as well, more cover than the aero trim.

Stand wise, I've not fitted the main stand so couldn't comment on clearance. Mine will be off the road for the winter but will still get a short run every month to keep the battery up and to keep the bike mobile.

Good choice of bike! The drives are bullet proof, the VFR1200F has been out for a couple of years now and no reported issues with them. Honda rear drives have always been bombproof.

I've kept my Varadero, haven't had any problems in 20k miles with mine, fired it up today in fact, still runs a dream! And still looks like a new bike.
Sorry can't be more help mate.
