    Tyres

I'm currently running Pirelli MT21's - they are excellent off the tar - make the NX handle way better in the bush.

However, I want to get a set off tyres for long road trips. I was thinking of Metzler Enduro 3's, but after having a read though this I may try a set of Michelin Sirac's for good road performance

Any comments/comparisons from users of either tyre ???

I've got an FMX rear wheel fitted with a 160/60/17 on mine. Had to get rid of the chain guard though. You prob know some 160s with differ from others in width so trail and error.
Had a super moto rim made for the front and that's got a 120/60/17 fitted.

Standard mine had 90/90/21 front and 130/80/17 rear.

I've only really had experience of Bridgestone Trailwings and frankly I wouldn't even bother considering another tyre, they're brilliant...and there's about 10 different 'styles' of Trailwing to chose from so caters for all riding!

I want to add to the poll but I dont know how

Had Anakees on previous bike, my favourite...

Bridgestone BT45s for me, although I only ride on tarmac. Best grip for my use. Rear lasted 4000 miles when it wore right down to the wear bar though. Might try the Metzeler tourances next time though.

Not all TWs are good though - the standard fitment 41/42 were, I agree, really good, wet or dry, on the road, although they soon became slicks off-road

Sorry, afk, have had no experience of the Roadrunners, hopefully someone will be along soon who has.

    Re: What tyres?

Oh really, seems strange...the 41/42 combination would be hard to beat, I did have a rear tyre that was more road biased than the 42 but still knobbly and that was good too, and ive just recently replaced the rear from the sort of tyre you'd find on a Triumph Tiger type bike, I suppose a more long distance/touring tyre which was good but a couple of time it felt like i was going over the edge of them as they were quite flat in profile, and somehow not terrible off road either, though i guess thats more to do with the bike being amazing

    Re: What tyres?

I run Heidenau K60s on my Dommie. Great tyres, great grip.

The profile is designed with 60%road/40%offroad in mind (or something close to it). They're grippy in the wet, giving you quite the confidence when riding through storms. They also have a sort of knobby profile, enough to ensure traction and braking on dirt and gravel. The profile doesn't help a lot in the mud, but it's much better than most dual-sport tyres out there. On rocky terrain, dry or wet, they perform admirably.
