After the recent maintenance and repairs I carried out, the only thing that's not working is the rev counter. It's temperamental and displays different values every time I'm out on the bike. Apart from the instrument itself - any other idea's so that I can put this one to bed![]()
I've heard of this problem before, and I'm pretty sure its an earthing problem. You'll need a multimeter and check all earth points but thats where my money on.
Thanks - sounds like the tank will be coming off again ! One for the weekend....
Could people check their headlights to see whether they match the lens on mine?
Reason I'm asking is that my Dommie was originally a French-market model, so not sure which headlight is on it (no MOTs over here, so it might be wrong)
mine's like yours, but it came from a breakers in kent (don't ask why)
funily enough just got her MOT'd and the guy remarked about the beam being higher on the right than on the left. Couldn't figure out why and passed the old girl anyway![]()
Exactly like mine BenWhich makes yours LHD too

That's what I semi figured![]()
Hey all.
Can anyone assist in how to fault troubleshoot the speedo ?
Mine stopped registering any speed on the way home tonight...i.e. I was travelling at 0mph @ 5Krpm
As an aside, is this a valid excuse for speeding...
"Of course I know how fast I was travelling officer....exactly 0mph!!"
Anyway, I've removed the cable from both ends...nothing seems 'amiss'...what next![]()
any ideas gratefully accepted![]()
Thanks in advance.
Check the gear which is driven off the front wheel.
But first -
Did you take the inner cable out of the outer cable to check it? as these can snap - Chads did on his @ and i'm sure its a similar cable. I think its more likely to be this - if not then i'm stumped- youd need to dig into the speedo housing more - or go to halfords and buy a cheap cycle speedo.
