    Rattle...worried

Hi fellow Dommies...lol...l have a annoying rattle coming from the top left hand side of the motor..only does it when the bike has changed gears and is just off the luggeyness...does it at 2nd and 3rd gears...at first l though it was a loose front sprocket, but that checked out fine..it had a new cam chain installed 12 months ago..so it has me stuffed as to what it could be.

the bike is a 95 model with 45,000 km on it..and l still think it is one of the best bikes ever made.[/img]

Have you adjusted your valve gaps recently? Onother thought - on mine, my dipstick got slightly bent and was rattling on the inside of the frame - it sounded like it was coming from the engine but it wasnt. I just bent back the dipstick so it didnt touch frame and rattle gone.

I had a valve seat drop out once, on a xl600lmf, didn't affect the running but rattled like hell.

Removed the head and took it to S.E.P in Kegworth who fixed it like new.
