    Domi died on me??? : - (

As a newbie to Domi's any advice welcomed.

I recently bought a '91 model, and was out enjoying a rideout in the sun today.
Along the way we stopped in a small chalk pit at the side of the road and had a little off road blat up and down some of the slopes and bumps,
I stopped for a breather after ten minutes (she's a big gal the Domi!), after which she totally refused to fire up. I thought I'd flooded her so left it for a while... still no luck, I tried bumping her down the fairly long hill from where the pit was situated... no go. I wondered if she'd got over warm riding around (it was pretty hot out today)? I used to have a Husky 510 that was a pig to start when hot.
I locked it up and left it for a couple of hours to cool... then went back to it, still it refused to even fire . I ended up towing it home.
Any ideas? I can't see why it would go from running perfectly to total no go
There appears to be no mechanical probems, it turns over ok, just doesn't seem to want to fire.
I'm wondering if the bumping around off road has dislodged some electrical component/wiring? I have a suspicion it's something annoyingly simple that I should be able to spot
Anyway sorry to waffle on - but any advice most appreciated.

    Cheers
    Nigel

don't know if it will be the problem

i had lots of random dimo complete stop because the connector to the CDI was working NG

initially i thought it was the connector,
i welded the terminals --> random stop again

the failure was internally in the CDI and the cause was i think that in some disassembly, someone installed CDI with the connection very close to the headlamp

in that condition it vibrates against headlamp&connector, and some internal mis-connection can be made

that was a crazy situation; random stop was really awful; finally, new cdi

    cheers

    I feel your pain...
(Ever tried a stunt like that on a kickstart-only bike? Quite a workout, and another reason for a red face.)

Never mind matey (said through the snigger) we've all had simular

Remember trying to start Dolly after she died on me one morning. First ran the battery flat, then bumped her down a hill (having pushed her up said hill first ) three times before noticing I hadn't turned the petrol on

    LOL

I think just about every body who has ever owned a bike with a kill switch has done that.

    At least YOU spotted it

    Confessional

Before your confession I was wondering about something that happened to me.

We set off on our big trip into the outback (see website below) and to be cautious, I disconnected the side-stand cut out switch on Andy's 93 Dommie. I didnt want anything to foul the wires in the rough and maybe cause a problem.

So...I zip-tied the switch up out of the way.

(You know what's coming....) Day one, happily blasting olong when BANG Andy's bike cuts out.
Only after a methodical check of spark, fuel, WD40 over everything and much cussing did I think about that cut-out switch. The vibration had made it move into the 'stand-down' position, cutting the ignition when 1st gear is engaged.
    Seems obvious now.

    Doh.
