Front brake noise

My front brake is making a wierd sound...like honing sound..checked the pads (only half worn ) and then thought the disc is rubbing on the side of the caliper...only happens when the disc is hot and just short of coming to a stop...got me stuffed what it is.

Hi, If you cant see anything rubbing on the caliper/pads, try and get the front wheel up in the air so you can spin it round and feel any resistance.

Could also be bearings - whilst wheel is up check for any play in the front wheel.

if the bearings seem ok, and nothing visible on pads/disk, then i suggest a front caliper strip down and re-build - and new brake fluid. it could be that your piston is sticking, and the pads arent going back in - so when your disk gets hot, it expands a bit and rubs on the pads.

And if you're in there, don't forget to clean and lube those slider pins... Those are infamous for running dry and thus not-sliding and keeping pressure on the disc...
