Trick for flooded bikes: Put the throttle all the way open and crank it over for a bit. This helps in getting her aired out a bit...

(Vital trick for kickstart bikes, I once met an elderly guy on the side of the road with a borrowed XL250... He let it stall, and couldn't get it started again because he was following his mates instructions to the letter. Instructions for a cold start So he had the choke on on a warm kickstart-only thumper, no bloody way you're going to get it going like that! So twist fully open, kick 10 times, and then try again. Got it going too, second time in my life that I kickstarted a thumper. )

    No cold start woe's

After a week or more at minus 20C - a few kicks and a press on the starter hailed the begining of a 20 minute ride in minus 4C in a howling wind (minus 16 wind chill or thereabouts). Well the roads were bare, so I thought c'mon - get togged up and go for a spin. What a blast No problems, even the rev counter is working again (don't get me started on that one) ! Couldn't hack much more than that, as my fingers and toes were numbing a bit
