Much the same these days...
Rims are the important bits, you can put a tube in a tubeless tyre as long as it's on a tube-type rim.
A tubeless rim is smooth to get a good seal, a tube type rim has grooves to stop it slipping around the rim (which would tear the valve out of the tube).

yes, buy 2 tubes. Maybe some spares as well, in case you ever get a puncture or damage one when fitting the tyres.Originally Posted by rikki1q

if you have spoked wheels you need a tube. Although a tube will fit inside a tubeless trye it is said it can make them run hot. Well its not recomended for cars. take you chance with a bike if you wish
Run my Avons with tubes (obviously) and never noticed them warm up significantly, and trust me they get some abuse![]()
You'll be fineenjoy
and finally i know im a pain lol but inner tube size? does it just go on the rim size or is there anything else i need to look at?
If you just tell whoever you're getting them from the tyre sizes on your bike, they'll give you the right sized tubes. Each size of tube fits quite a range of tyres. It'll tell you on the end of the innertube's box what tyre sizes it is suitable for.Originally Posted by rikki1q

On the subject of inner tubes, could I recommend you buy some heavy duty ones. Harder to fit, but harder to split too![]()
