Starting a bike with a kickstart is, without doubt, one of the most satisfying things on the planet in my opinion....even more than cheese on toast with worcester sauce!!!
There's a definitive knack to this (hey...my Sharona - the knack- how old is that now ?)....sometimes the kick ends with a full knee juddering stop, then other times she starts with the mildest of kicks - what a turn on...so to speak![]()
i had a xr650r kickstart only if you did not know the technique it would not start ever
The trick is to put it just on top of the compression stroke, and then let the kicker come back and give it a swift smooth kick. Problem is that the compression is harder to find if you don't have a manual valve lifter.
