slr650 gear changer

hi chaps. i need a new gear selector for my slr, the splines are worn and its become very loose(keep missing gears cos of it) been searching all usual sites but cant find one. would any honda fit or do i need a slr specific one. thanks for any help in advance.

Here's a tip for when you get a new one: Put it in a vise and use a metal saw or grinder or somesuch to open up the gap a bit more...

The shifters have a tendency to only just grip the splines, and over time they can start moving a bit. This stuffs up the splines over time, and if the shaft into the gearbox wears out then you're done for.

Anyway, looks like this:

(I've started halfway through, then I got to my senses and noticed that the splines were way beyond use.)

thanks for that mate, it works a treat. have you any idea what the spline sizes are for the dommy(same as slr i would think) as i would still like to get a new one just in case. a guy has replied to me from ebay and just needs the spline size. he reckons hes got all sizes so could match me one up..

I'd guess the spline size is the same for dommie SLR Vigor FMX XL XR and whatever else uses the RFVC engine.

It's the shape of the pedal you need to worry about... (Or bend it yourself, ofcourse. )

Part number 24710mak000 listed the FX650 vigor as well as the SLR
