    Electrickery

So the dommie was being silly recently, sometimes not cranking over and such, and having the blinkers on the blink when running off the battery at low revs/idle...

    Bother, sez I.

So off came the seat, to have a look at the likeliest suspect, the area around the starter relay and main fuse. The latter was still intact ofcourse, instead I found some worthless part of the wiring loom was busy sacrificing itself to protect the valuable fuse. How brave... Fuse and connector half melted, with a distinct smell of magic smoke.

Took it all apart, got out the voltmeter and alligator clips, and quickly came to the conclusion that the little plastic trinket on top of the starter relay was to blame.

Which to me is a very odd part to break, really. It's nr 9 in the piccie:

Order placed, "only" 17.50 euro ex vat.
Deary me, I've gotten used to cheap bmw prices...

    Yep it's the fuse holder...

And easy enough, provided that they still have to actually deliver the part...

Anyway, CMSNL has a lot of honda spares, if you can manage to find it on the website.

Bad contacts I guess. Know, really, as things are a bit too green and moldy for my tastes... Something got hot in there, and that didn't help any.

And now I hope they hurry along a bit with the part, and that it actually fixes the problem, because the GS is getting clunky and vibey, 'fraid the shaft may finally be on its last legs...

In other words, I need the "spare" honda. I reeally don't want to deal with public transport anymore...
