    custom fuel tank...

I can't for the life of me, remember if I've asked this before.
    I have 2 dommies.
One is dead, but all the parts are fine.
I want to take the fuel tank off the dead dommy, and put it on the good dommy, AFTER I get a welder to increase the fuel capacity of the tank.

I've found a guy In Bristol who can take my tank and alter it.
However, I'm a lazy git and wanted to stay closer to home (I'm in London).
to that end, does anyone use, or know if a welder that can do this kind of job.

Most welders I've called ahve all said no.
I mean it's just metal work right?

    Anyhoo, suggestions welcome!

    Tris...

Not really, I think most welders will probably steer clear purely due to the fact that it's a fuel tank.

With the money it would cost to transport it to the welders and get it done, could you not buy the Acerbis tank?

keep an eye out on ebay they do crop up from time to time, thats where I got mine.Acerbis is a much better option than a welding job.
45L tank on a Dommie sounds to much?????

Try touratech they still have them advertised

    http://www.touratech.com/shops/008/a...e7e0d&x=6&y=10

Be careful there were 3 Acerbis tanks made to fit the different changes to the Dommie.

    Re: custom fuel tank...

    Cheers for that..!
I've got an italian import, and the 'approx year' is 1992.

However, the piture sI found of the acerbis tank for that year, don't look like my tank, mine (the 14l version) has two 'sticky outy bits' at the bottom.
Where as the Pics I saw were just a solid shape...

I know it's gotta be bigger of course, but I'm not convinced that I've got he right year marked...

Which leads me to ask, what are the clear identifiers to say what year she is?

    Anyone got any clue?

As far as I,m aware(not 100%) from 88 to 91 the bike stayed the same look wise.
Than from 92 to 94 it changed.95 on changed again
If you hav a pic put it up.

This link is to the Acerbis site with Dommie tanks
