Speedo gear box

Hi,
Anybody know where I can get a new speedo gearbox for a 1999 NX650W?
Dave Silver couldn't oblige and they say they are discontinued. I am trying to see if they can come up with a gear wheel for it as this may be the problem, but I am not holding my breath. Anybody know if one from an earlier/later model will fit?

You could try asking the guys at www.cmsnl.com, they've got a lot of old honda stock.
