    Bike cuts out while riding

    Gidday everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem.

I got a 93 model NX 650 Dominator and the bike would be cruising alone fine and then all of a sudden just cut out at any time.If I pull over to the side of the road it fires up first pop if I flogg the bike it cuts out again but if I just cruise along normal its fine till the next time it cuts out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me nuts!!!

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a CDI, sidestand switch or engine kill switch issue, especially if it cuts out while under load. Start by tapping the CDI while idling. If it dies, you have the usual connector problem. Otherwise check switches first then check with a known-to-be-good CDI.

Sounds like the classic fuel tank breather blockage to me. No air into the fuel tank = no fuel out.
    Check your filler cap...

Or possibly crap in the carb, full noise flows a lot of fuel sucking the object into the jet = cut out
Once you stop, the object drops out and you can restart, taking it easy it doesn't get sucked into the main jet.
Have you tried pulling the choke in when it cuts out or does it just die completely?
I had this recently when I fitted a second hand carb to my 88 US model, there was a bit of old varnish or something blocked the main jet and I had to pull over and use the choke to limp home, there was a tiny bit of crap blocking the main jet.

Yes - I had a BMW F650 that used to do that when the carbs got a spot of water in them (which they often did due to the plasitc tank and condensation).
